I was searching for a theme to decorate a three bedroom chalet in La Clusaz, France, when I discovered to my delight that the delicious Reblochon cheese for which La Clusaz is famous is made from the milk of three different breeds of cow. I decided to name each room after one of the breeds and feature a painting showing a pair of those cows “in love” in each room: russet red Tarentaise, brown and white Montbelliarde, likewise Abondance (but significantly more stylish in their signature “sunglasses”). Since then I have had many more requests for cow paintings!
